La Gran Manzana, NYC, New York, la capital del mundo...En definititva, Nueva York. A imagen y semejanza de los Estados Unidos, todo en esta ciudad es grande. Comenzando por un inmenso pulmón en pleno centro llamado Central Park, obligada visita, por otra parte, en el que se concentran en 3000 metros cuadrados, lagos, extensas praderas, puentes victorianos.... Una seña de identidad reflejado en miles de películas, canciones, libros... Con rincón muy especial, sobre todo para los fanáticos de Los Beatles, como es Strawberry Fields. Un gran mosaico con la palabra Imagen en el centro en el que miles de fans se congregan cada año para recordar a los cuatro de Liverpool y, en especial a John Lennon, que fue disparado muy cerca de allí, en el edificio Dakota.
El toque consumista de la Gran Manzana lo ponen las centenares de tiendas que pueblan las aceras del centro de Nueva York. Desde las de los grandes diseñadores, hasta las que reúnen en sus estanterias miles de objetos de uso común pero con un gran tamaño (Think Big). También Macy's en Herald Square o Bloomingdale's, aquellos grandes almacenes en los que Rachel Green, de Friends, hacía de las suyas mientras vestía a miles de neuyorquinos. La vida ociosa en la ciudad no se para en los escaparates. De noche, la Nueva York de los clubs emerge de entre sus calles. Cosmopolitans, Dry Martinis, San Franciscos... corren por las barras de una ciudad que nunca duerme. Bye bye, New York City!
